$54,344.00 - $116,608.00 Job Description Oversee the daily operations of Atwood Memorial Center (AMC). (40%) Responsibilities include retail operations, set and promote building hours, develop and enforce operating policies and procedures, providing building access, and enforcing building safety and emergency management. Respond to operational issues that may occur during evenings and weekends. Independently lead the Atwood student employment program which includes managing employment policies and practices, maintaining position descriptions, and oversee budget. Provide timely responses to concerns, special requests or complaints from AMC patrons. Administer St. Cloud State University public expression policies with campus visitors including free speech areas, promotional space, and policies regarding protests or demonstrations. Provide operational leadership to the retail areas of
AMC:
Atwood-managed areas include, the Atwood Information Desk, the Atwood Underground bowling and billiards center, graphic design and printing center, and dining. (20%) Annually review and make recommendations to revise pricing, service offerings, policies and procedures, and overall training requirements for retail areas. Research and develop new programs, services, and initiatives to meet the operations and budget goals of Atwood Center. Represent AMC on University committees and issues pertaining to retail sales including copyright, information security, trademark and licensing, and ticket sales. Monitor and provide support to retail dining operations that include communicating operating hours, marketing and promotions, and cleaning protocols. Train, evaluate, support, and direct the work of 1 employee staff member to meet University and AMC goals. Hire, supervise, train, evaluate, and support the work of graduate assistant(s), and student employees. (15%) Monitor and coordinate facility repairs for AMC (15%) Submit work order requests and provide information to Facilities Management, the Atwood staff, and other staffi impacted by repairs being completed. Assist the Executive Director in the creation and implementation of facility master plan and the repair and refurbishment budget for deferred maintenance, repair, and renovation and expansion projects. Complete other duties as assigned (10%) Represent the Atwood Center as needed within Student Affairs and in university initiatives. Serve as a member of the Atwood Center leadership team and provide input to the Atwood Center Council. Participate in policy formation and review. Provide input to Atwood Center Council. Serve as the advisor to Student Government. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree plus three years of advanced professional experience in facility management, student union operations, student employee management, retail area management, recreation programming; or a Bachelor's degree plus four years advanced professional experience in facility management, student union operations, student employee management, retail area management, recreation programming. Experience directly overseeing/hiring/supporting students and or staff Experience developing, tracking and managing annual budgets Ability to work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, and experience using web based software applications commonly used to facilitate operational efficiencies Preferred Qualification Prior work experience in higher education Experience with policy creation and administration Experience with planning, implementing, and marketing of retail or building operations Experience with emergency procedures and management Knowledge of bowling center operations Experience with assessment and evaluation of student affairs areas Understanding of student affairs and student development in a higher education environment Other Requirements Working conditions are typically a professional office environment. Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include some evening and weekend work. In order to perform duties and attend meetings/events, mostly in-person work is required on campus. This position manages the Atwood Memorial Center and therefore requires transporting/moving boxes of materials and or supplies, up to 20 pounds. Eligibility includes being a U.S. citizen or national, a lawful permanent resident, or a foreign national authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employer sponsorship. Employees must maintain work authorization without sponsorship for the duration of their appointment. Work Shift (Hours / Days of work) Typically M-F 8 am - 4:30 pm. Some evenings and weekends will be required.
