After returning to a transformed David Geffen Hall in 2022, the Orchestra is acting on a renewed commitment to building on a legacy of more than 180 years, serving as a platform for today's greatest musical artists and connecting with our communities. Gustavo Dudamel will become the Philharmonic's Oscar L. Tang and H.M. Agnes Hsu-Tang Music and Artistic Director beginning at the start of the 2026-2027 season. About the Role The New York Philharmonic seeks a strategic and relationship‑driven Director, Individual Giving to lead our annual giving and membership efforts for donors contributing up to $25,000 annually. This role is central to cultivating meaningful donor relationships, strengthening our community of supporters, and advancing the Philharmonic's mission. The Director oversees the Friends, Patron, and Young New Yorkers programs, manages a high‑performing team, and maintains a personal portfolio of Patron‑level donors. This is an opportunity for a collaborative development leader who enjoys being deeply engaged with donors, colleagues, and the artistic life of an internationally renowned cultural institution. Your Day-to-Day Lead a multi‑channel annual giving strategy across the Friends, Patron, and Young New Yorkers programs. Grow giving and retention through effective donor segmentation, pipeline development, and strong member experience. Manage, mentor, and support a collaborative Individual Giving team. Partner across Development on mail, digital, telefund, and ticket buyer/subscriber conversion strategies. Maintain a personal portfolio of Patron‑level donors, focused on cultivation and stewardship. Oversee Individual Giving budgets, revenue analysis, and performance tracking. Engage directly with donors by attending concerts and hosting membership and cultivation events. Contribute to a welcoming, inclusive, and values‑driven work environment. What you Bring to the Team Qualifications 7+ years of development experience, with increasing responsibility leading annual giving or membership programs. Proven success managing donor communities and cultivating meaningful donor relationships. Strong analytical and database skills; Tessitura experience highly valued. Clear, compelling communicator with strong written and verbal skills and excellent organization. Flexible working evenings and weekends for performances and events; arts or cultural experience a plus, bachelor's degree or equivalent required. Bilingual capability is a plus.
