ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL SET
Holds an Arkansas teaching license within the range of K-6 Bachelor's degree in music, music education, or a related field is preferred Sound musical knowledge The ability to interpret various styles of music Strong leadership and listening skills Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Effective communication skills A passion for music; is patient, creative, and assertive Displays effective classroom management and incorporates engaging student activities Assist in performances and rehearsals Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive, and engaging classroom environment Create engaging, active lesson plans to promote student mastery Communicates with parents and other personnel regarding student mastery and progress Maintain professional competence by participating in continuous professional growth, curriculum development opportunities, and Professional Learning Communities Supervises students in and out-of-classroom during the assigned work day Maintains professional competence by participating in continuous professional growth, curriculum development opportunities, Professional Learning Communities, Response to Intervention teams, and other leadership collaborative teams. Shares in the sponsorship of student activities such as content projects, promotional events, as well as faculty committees and projects Participates cooperatively with the appropriate administrator in their evaluation and professional growth plan Committed to multiple days of professional development regarding curriculum specific to the grade level; often involves several weeks during the summer months Maintains accurate records of student progress/grades Performs other duties as assigned.
