Piano Instructor

Duties Develop customized lesson plans that align with students' goals, skill levels, and musical interests, incorporating curriculum development best practices. Teach piano techniques, music theory, sight-reading, and performance skills through engaging instruction tailored to individual or group settings. Manage classroom dynamics effectively by implementing behavior management strategies that promote respect, focus, and a positive atmosphere. Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to help students improve their playing and build confidence during performances or assessments. Organize recitals, practice sessions, and special events to showcase student progress and foster community engagement. Collaborate with parents, guardians, or adult learners to track progress and set achievable milestones for continued growth. Incorporate additional arts or movement activities such as dancing or theater elements when appropriate to enhance musical understanding and creativity. Experience Proven experience in teaching piano to students of various ages, including early childhood education and preschool experience. Strong background in curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and working with children or adults in educational settings. Familiarity with classroom experience that involves behavior management techniques and childhood development principles. Experience working with special education needs or providing accommodations for diverse learning styles is a plus. Knowledge of related skills such as photography, ballet, sewing, culinary arts, or theater can be beneficial in creating interdisciplinary lessons that inspire creativity. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students of all backgrounds while fostering a supportive learning environment.
