Job Description

Band/Orchestra/Choir Teacher, West Valley, AZ Full time
  • Charter One Description Charter One works with schools across the country to provide all-inclusive education management services.
At Charter One we pride ourselves on our thorough knowledge of charter school operations, academics, finance, human resources, information technology, marketing, and more. We handle the day-to-day work so that client school boards can focus on governance and policy issues to be sure that the vision and mission of the school are being carried out properly. American Leadership Academy is now accepting applications for a Band Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year for our campuses located in the West Valley. Candidates must possess, or be willing to obtain, a valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Plans, rehearses and directs band classes (Jazz, Concert, Marching) with a minimum of four evening performances per school year.
  • Cooperates with the district and school administration in providing music programs for sporting events, school productions, graduation ceremonies and as appropriate, civic functions that enhance the students' performing experience.
  • Participates in the design and instruction of Marching Band, including attendance of festivals, camps and clinics outside school hours.
  • Seeks performance opportunities and implements participation of the band in out-of-school band experiences appropriate to the curriculum and student interests.
  • Helps to manage the inventory, storage and use of school owned equipment and materials
  • Is able to make minor adjustments and repairs to instruments.
  • Prepares effective lessons/rehearsals that reflect accommodations for individual student differentiation.
  • Plans and uses appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
  • Creates an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Music Performance, or related field
  • Arizona Teaching Certificate or 24 credit hours in area or Content knowledge exams (AEPA, NES, Praxis) American Leadership Academy offers a competitive salary that is individually determined based on education and experience.
