Required Qualifications Credential:
Appropriate California Teaching Credential;
Single Subject:
Music or Multiple Subject with authorization.
Education:
Bachelor's degree, including all courses needed to meet credential requirements. Must be authorized by the State of California to teach English Learners. These requirements must be met by October 1 of a teacher's second year with the district. Better than average recommendations from professionals who have observed personal characteristics, scholastic attainment, and classroom performance. Must be able to establish good working relationships with other professionals. Essential Functions of this Position 1. Teach skills in music understanding and instrumental music. Utilize the course of study adopted by the Governing Board and other appropriate music learning experiences. 2. Instruct pupils in citizenship, basic communication skills, and other general elements of the course of study specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district. 3. Provide planned learning experiences in order to motivate pupils and best utilize the available time for instruction. 4. Develop lesson plans and instructional materials for the class, including individualized and small group instruction as necessary. 5. Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom. 6. Evaluate academic and social growth of pupils, keep appropriate records, prepare progress reports, and communicate with parents on the individual pupil's progress. 7. Prepare instrumental group(s) for participation in school performances, rating festivals, clinics, and parades. 8.
