Job Description

Raffia Music Studio is seeking a Piano & Voice music teacher specializing in working with children with special needs, ideally someone with a music therapy background. The successful candidate must prioritize compassion and patience, with experience working with neurodivergent children being a plus. This position offers in-person, one-on-one lessons that promote compassion, tolerance, emotional security, resourcefulness, and independent critical thinking, while addressing each student's individual academic and emotional needs.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Provide one-on-one teaching in music instrumentation (voice, piano, additional instruments a plus) A minimum of 2 years of experience in music education from an accredited college or university is necessary. An Associate's Degree is required, and a Bachelor's Degree is preferred. Solid subject matter knowledge is required in these areas: music composition, production, and instrumentation (voice, keyboard, guitar, and drums). Must be a versatile instructor who is great with children and able to teach different music genres, specifically Pop, Classical, Jazz, and Musical Theatre.
Plus:
well-trained and grounded in vocal principles and singing. Teaching credentials are a plus but not mandatory. Experience with students with learning differences and ADHD is a plus, as is mentoring experience. The ideal candidate is outgoing, well-organized, and competent in basic computer skills, and eager to work in a highly dynamic, energetic studio setting. Work 2 to 3+ days a week in person is required. The right candidate will be able to teach lessons on

musical instruments. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not necessary.
