Elementary Music Teacher (TK-6) Wilmar Union School District - Wilson School Position Overview Wilson School is seeking an enthusiastic, movement-oriented music teacher to build a love of music in students from Transitional Kindergarten through 6th grade. This role is centered on creating a fun, engaging environment where students explore music through singing, movement, and hands-on experiences. The goal is not just to teach music—but to inspire creativity, confidence, and joy. Key ResponsibilitiesCurriculum & Instruction Lead engaging, age-appropriate music lessons for TK-6 students Use singing, rhythm, and movement to keep students actively involved Introduce foundational music concepts (rhythm, notation, basic theory) through play and exploration Instrumental Exploration 3rd

All Grades:

Use Boomwhackers, percussion instruments, and rhythm-based activities Performances Direct and coordinate: 6th Grade musical/play One winter performance One spring performance Qualifications & Skills Passion for working with elementary-aged students Ability to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment Basic familiarity with listed instruments (or willingness to learn alongside students) Strong classroom management and organization skills Collaborative and team-oriented mindset Preferred Teaching credential (or eligibility) Experience in elementary music instruction Experience leading performances or student productions Salary and Hours Salary placement will be based on experience, qualifications, and applicable credentials. Preference may be given to candidates with music credentials and/or elementary music experience. Position is anticipated to be approximately 2.5 days per week (Flexible days and times) Why Wilson School?
