Redondo Beach, CA | Part-Time & Full-Time Available | In-Person The Wonder Note is seeking exceptional Piano Instructors to join our growing team of passionate educators and working musicians. We are a contemporary music studio dedicated to developing confident, well-rounded musicians through both strong technical foundations and real-world creative application. Our students range from young beginners to adult learners and retirees, including aspiring professionals, hobbyists, and students who have gone on to attend prestigious music schools and sign with record labels. We are looking for teachers who can mentor and inspire students at every stage of their musical journey. Strong fundamentals with both classical, creative, and contemporary application Real-world music-making through practicing and performing with live accompaniment Professional, inspiring learning environments — all studio rooms are designed like recording studios A supportive, collaborative, and creative teaching culture A studio that deeply values both its students and its teachers We are passionate about developing musicians who are both technically strong and artistically expressive, while creating a positive and inspiring environment for teachers to grow professionally and creatively. We are seeking teachers who are able to: Develop individualized lesson plans tailored to each student's age, voice, goals, and experience level Provide private (and occasionally group) instruction to students of varying ages and experience levels, including children, teens, adults, and retirees Teach music theory, strong fundamentals, and healthy vocal technique Incorporate both classical and contemporary repertoire into lessons Demonstrate strong knowledge of teaching materials, method books, and educational resources to create productive and engaging lessons Prepare students for Certificate of Merit testing, performances, recitals, and special events Prepare students for large-scale recitals performed with full live band accompaniment Maintain timely lesson notes, student records, and progress updates for students and parents Potentially teach studio intensive programs and summer camps as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Piano or related field Minimum 5 years of teaching experience Experience teaching private lessons to children, teens, and adults Experience working with neurodivergent students is a plus Proficiency in Logic Pro is a plus Performance and/or industry experience strongly valued
Position Details:
W-2 Employee Position Part-time and full-time positions available Starting pay: $36-$40/hour based on experience and qualifications Opportunities for schedule growth and long-term studio placement Overtime pay available for recitals, performances, and studio events Studio recitals are held twice yearly and consist of full-day productions featuring four shows per day, hundreds of performers, and live band accompaniment Flexible scheduling Lessons held at our Redondo Beach studios Ongoing hiring for August-September start dates Full-time employees eligible for Paid Time Off (PTO) and additional growth opportunities within the studio
