September-June (School Year Commitment) About the Role Acton Academy Santa Cruz is seeking a passionate and entrepreneurial Music Teacher to launch and lead a dynamic, hands-on music program within our ArtTerra enrichment program.

//www.actonsantacruz.org/artterra-enrichment This is a unique opportunity to build something meaningful from the ground up while working with a small, mixed-age group of learners (approximately 10-12 students, elementary through high school, including homeschool and private school families). What You'll Do Design and lead an engaging weekly music class Develop instrumental music skills in a mixed-age setting Foster confidence, collaboration, and a love of music Shape the direction of the program (ensemble, band, or instrument-focused) Create a supportive and inspiring learning environment Program Details Music block: Fridays, 8:30-10:30 AM Full program day runs 8:30 AM-3:15 PM (additional hours may be available) September through mid-June Small group setting (10-12 learners) Open to the public We provide a grand piano and additional instruments onsite, along with a supportive and engaged community of over 40 families. Paid prep time is included as part of this role. Expanded Opportunity (ArtTerra Program) We are also growing our Friday ArtTerra program to include: Afternoon art instruction Hands-on cooking projects Gardening and nature-based learning We would love to find a multi-talented educator who is excited to contribute beyond music—especially someone who enjoys art, nature, and cooking. This is not required , but ideal candidates may be interested in: Teaching an afternoon art class Supporting or leading creative, nature-based projects Bringing a cross-disciplinary approach to learning Additional Opportunities Build your own private lesson practice using our campus (afternoons, evenings, and weekends available) Potential to expand your role as the program grows Preferred (Not Required) Ability to offer Spanish language instruction or immersion, which is highly valued within our community Background in visual arts, cooking, gardening, or nature-based education Who You Are Experienced in teaching music to children and/or teens Comfortable working with mixed-age groups Skilled in one or more instruments Passionate about mentoring young people Excited to help grow a creative, community-centered program Paid Audition Opportunity We invite select candidates to join us for a paid Friday teaching audition during our final session of this school year.
