Liberty Common School - 4.0 Fort Collins, CO Job Details Part-time $22,000 - $32,000 a year 6 hours ago Qualifications Middle school teaching Copy machines Working with middle schoolers Teaching instrumental performance Full Job Description Seeking a half-time Music instructor beginning August 2026 at Liberty Common Junior High School in Fort Collins, Colorado - a Poudre School District charter school dedicated to using the Core Knowledge curriculum in grades K-8. The standalone junior-high school opened to students in August of 2025 and has enrolled over 250 junior-high students in its opening year. Liberty Common Junior High School provides excellence and fairness in education by teaching 1) a contextual body of organized knowledge, 2) the skills of learning, and 3) the values of a democratic society. This is done through parental choice, partnership with teachers, and student acceptance of responsibility for his/her academic effort. The full-time music instructor has responsibility for program delivery of the Core Music classes as part of the Core Knowledge Curriculum at the junior high level and directing Orchestra programs at the elementary and junior-high level. Applicants should be dedicated to a strong skills- and knowledge-based curriculum, and dedicated to high student achievement.

Minimum Requirements:
BA/BS in Music, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Ability and willingness to teach core music and orchestra to students in upper elementary and junior high grade levels. Demonstrated effective classroom teaching ability.
Preferred Characteristics:
Experience and proficiency with music and orchestra instruction/direction. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multiple teams. MS/MA in Music, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Other relevant musical experience
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to maneuver uneven surfaces. Must be able to carry or transfer up to 20lbs of supplies frequently. Must be able to work in occasionally loud environments. Must be able to frequently use office technology including computers, copiers, and printers.
