Middle School Band & Orchestra Teacher Position Overview:

Pinecrest Academy is seeking a dynamic and passionate Middle School Band & Orchestra Teacher. The ideal candidate is committed to fostering students' musical skills, creativity, and appreciation for performing arts. This teacher will provide instruction in instrumental music, ensemble performance, and music theory, while creating a positive, engaging, and collaborative learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver band and orchestra instruction for middle school students Develop lessons that build proficiency in instrumental techniques, music reading, and performance skills Conduct rehearsals and prepare students for concerts, competitions, and school performances Teach music theory, history, and appreciation alongside performance instruction Use assessment data and observations to differentiate instruction for diverse learners Maintain a structured, positive classroom and rehearsal environment that promotes student engagement and accountability Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and performance opportunities Collaborate with colleagues during Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and school events Maintain accurate records of student progress and comply with all school, district, and state requirements Participate in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and extracurricular activities

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Instrumental Music, or a related field Valid Florida Teaching Certificate (or eligibility) in Music (Grades 6-12) Proficiency in conducting both band and orchestra ensembles Strong classroom and rehearsal management skills Ability to inspire students and foster a love of music Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience teaching middle school band and orchestra Experience with solo and ensemble competitions, marching band, or advanced ensembles Knowledge of diverse musical styles and instruments Ability to integrate technology and creative instructional strategies in music education
