Job Description

Guitar Teacher Guitar Shed Atlanta, GA Job Details Part-time $27.50 an hour 21 hours ago Qualifications Teaching visual & performing arts Teaching arts Classroom Teaching Teaching Teaching instrumental performance Full Job Description Guitar Shed - Atlanta, GA We're hiring an experienced music teacher who takes their work seriously and cares about doing it well. Guitar Shed serves 500+ students each week, and we aim to run a music school that's both inspiring and organized. Our teachers show up prepared, lead their lessons with confidence, and play an active role in the community here. This isn't the right fit if you're looking for a super casual side gig. But if you enjoy teaching, like seeing students improve, and want to be part of a team that holds a high bar, you'll probably feel at home. What You'll Bring At least 3 years of teaching guitar Strong skills on your instrument You plan your lessons and use that time well You can keep students (especially ages 5-12) focused and engaged You communicate clearly with parents You're reliable, show up early, and contribute to a positive team environment You're open to feedback and willing to adjust when needed Being a great player helps, but consistency, preparation, and presence matter just as much. Probably Not a Fit If You… Prefer to improvise lessons without a plan Get distracted during teaching time Avoid team meetings or collaboration Don't like feedback or accountability See teaching as a temporary stopgap What the Job Involves Teaching structured, full-length lessons Tracking student progress Taking part in recitals and community events Attending meetings and occasional professional development Observing and being observed (for growth, not micromanagement) Maintaining clear, professional communication You'll also need to pass a background check as part of the process. We take hiring seriously and try to make thoughtful, long-term decisions. Instruments We Teach Guitar, piano, voice, violin, drums, bass, ukulele, banjo, mandolin, and fiddle (Multi-instrumentalists and group class experience are a plus.) Pay & Perks Starting at $27.50/hour (higher for highly experienced teachers) Performance-based bonuses W-2 employee option Free lessons for immediate family Discounts on lessons, strings, and books Many of our teachers build steady schedules and stay long-term. About Guitar Shed Founded in 2015 in Atlanta's Kirkwood neighborhood, Guitar Shed is a community-focused music school with high standards and a welcoming feel. We care about doing things well and creating a place where both students and teachers can grow.
