Classes are 50 minutes each , with 2-3 combined‑grade sessions per day . This contractor will design and deliver engaging music instruction, introduce foundational keyboard skills, and prepare students to perform 1-2 pieces at both the Christmas Program and End‑of‑Year Program . The teacher will also lead students during these performances. This role includes supporting two additional school events per year (e.g., Open House, Family Night). Specific day of the week and hours will be determined in collaboration with the school leadership team. Key Responsibilities Instruction & Classroom Leadership Teach 2-3 combined‑grade music classes (50 minutes each) on a designated day each week. Provide age‑appropriate instruction in general music concepts with a keyboard‑centered curriculum . Introduce students to rhythm, melody, harmony, notation, listening skills, and ensemble playing. Create a joyful, structured, and Christ‑honoring learning environment. Manage classroom routines effectively for mixed‑age groups. Performance Preparation Select, teach, and rehearse 1-2 performance pieces for the Christmas Program and End‑of‑Year Program. Lead students during both performances, ensuring confidence, readiness, and excellence. Coordinate with school leadership regarding program flow, rehearsal needs, and logistics. Event Support Participate in two additional school events outside normal instructional hours (e.g., Open House, Curriculum Night, Family Worship Night). Represent the music program with warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm. Planning & Collaboration Prepare weekly lesson plans aligned with TriQuest's mission and developmental expectations. Communicate proactively with school leadership regarding scheduling, needs, and student progress. Maintain a positive, collaborative relationship with teachers, staff, and families. Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency in keyboard/piano and general music instruction. Experience teaching elementary‑aged students (school, church, studio, or community setting). Ability to lead group performances with confidence and clarity. Strong classroom management skills, especially with mixed‑age groups. Alignment with TriQuest's Christian mission, values, and statement of faith. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as a contractor. Prior experience preparing students for performances is preferred. Contract Details Contractor position (not eligible for employee benefits). One instructional day per week (specific day TBD). 2-3 class sessions per day, 50 minutes each. Additional compensation for two out‑of‑school‑time events. Compensation rate determined based on experience and qualifications.
