Overview:
Piano Instructor/Teacher—In Person—Twin Falls and Jerome, ID (Part Time) Local candidates only (must live within 20 miles of Twin Falls or Jerome). (PLUS a 6% bonus each quarter that you don't miss any piano labs). 2. Put your specialized skills to work improving the lives of kids in your community 3. A fun, challenging and rewarding opportunity. 5. Flexible, negotiable work hours. The successful candidate will be hired to teach children ages 7-18 in the piano-lab format. In piano labs, there are 3-4 students practicing independently with headphones while the instructor moves around the room helping students as needed to keep everyone learning and progressing.
General Requirements:
Must be energetic, cheerful and patient; must enjoy working with children (previous experience with children is an asset) Must be able to multi-task efficiently Must be able to communicate concisely Must be organized and detail-oriented Must remain calm under pressure Must be dependable, punctual and responsible
Musical Requirements:
Proven piano skills and knowledge 2 years of experience teaching music Fluent sight-reading ability Ability to identify students' strengths and weaknesses. Ability to inspire and motivate students
Responsibilities:
Showing up 15 min early to scheduled piano labs (this includes unlocking the building). Engaging with multiple students sequentially, ensuring that everyone is learning the entire time. Demonstrating finger position and technique in short interactions Quickly assessing student's progress and guiding them to keep practicing or move on to the next song Teaching music theory and explaining musical concepts in a clear and concise manner. Helping students improve technique and sight-reading ability Motivating students, especially when they are struggling and progress is slow. Adapting instruction to meet the needs of each student
Pay:
$36.50 - $43.00 per hour
