Strong proficiency in one or more orchestral string instruments. Experience teaching beginning string students and developing technique, musicianship, and ensemble skills. Illinois teaching certification preferred but not required. Experience working with gifted, advanced, or highly motivated students is preferred. Ideal Candidate We are particularly interested in candidates who: Have successfully directed elementary or middle school orchestras. Are passionate about string pedagogy and ensemble development. Can build strong relationships with students while maintaining high expectations. Bring energy, creativity, and musical excellence to the classroom. Thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working closely with fellow music educators. Why Join SAA SAA offers a unique opportunity to work with bright, motivated students who genuinely love learning. Our music program is highly valued by students, families, and faculty, and instrumental music plays an important role in school life.
