Music Teacher Full-Time Position We are seeking a passionate, creative, and engaging Music Teacher to join our Reggio Emilia-inspired school community serving children from toddlers through Grade 5. The ideal candidate believes in the power of music as a language of expression, discovery, collaboration, and joy and is excited to cultivate a lifelong love of music in young children. About Our School Our school is a child-centered, Reggio-inspired learning community where children are viewed as capable, competent, and full of potential. Through inquiry, creativity, and meaningful relationships, we foster a learning environment that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and self-expression. Music is an important part of our curriculum and school culture, providing children with opportunities to explore rhythm, movement, voice, instruments, storytelling, and cultural traditions through hands-on experiences. Responsibilities Plan and teach developmentally appropriate music classes for our students Foster a joyful and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and creativity. Integrate singing, movement, rhythm, instrument exploration, composition, and performance opportunities. Collaborate with classroom teachers to support curriculum connections and student projects. Incorporate diverse musical genres, cultures, and traditions into lessons. Prepare students for school performances and community events as appropriate. Document children's musical learning and growth through observations, photos, recordings, and student work. Maintain and organize music materials, instruments, and classroom resources. Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Music, Early Childhood Education, or a related field preferred. Experience teaching music to young children and elementary-aged students. Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practice. Appreciation for or experience with the Reggio Emilia philosophy, project-based learning, and emergent curriculum. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Ability to play piano, guitar, or another accompanying instrument is preferred. Enthusiasm, flexibility, creativity, and a collaborative spirit.
