Job Description Marching Band:

Winds Instructor Brockton High School is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Marching Band Winds Instructor to provide focused musical instruction and support for woodwind and brass students in the BHS Marching Band. This position works collaboratively with the Marching Band Director, Assistant Director, and student leadership to support a successful marching band program. Key Responsibilities Provide sectional and ensemble instruction for woodwind and brass students during: Summer band camp Afterschool rehearsals Football games and parades Reinforce proper playing technique, tone quality, intonation, articulation, and musicality while marching. Assist with teaching drill fundamentals, marching technique, and performance skills. Collaborate with the directing staff and student leaders to support musical excellence and consistency. Assist with rehearsal preparation and support, including: Copying and scanning music Organizing rehearsal materials Supporting student leadership Help manage instruments and equipment as needed. Assist with uniform fitting and distribution. Promote a positive, focused, and supportive learning environment for all students. Time Commitment Approximately 175-200 hours of work from June through November Approximately 10 additional hours per year assisting with equipment and instruments, uniform fittings, and rehearsal preparation Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching or performing on a woodwind or brass instrument Prior experience with marching band or drum corps Strong understanding of marching band performance standards Ability to work collaboratively with directing staff and students Strong communication and organizational skills Passion for mentoring high school musicians
