Elementary Music Teacher K-5 - Long Term Substitute Cohasset, MA Job Details Full-time 9 hours ago Qualifications Teaching visual & performing arts IEP Student performance assessment strategies Teaching music Student record keeping Teaching arts Musical instruments Working with students with special education needs Elementary school teaching Collaborative teaching Project stakeholder communication Entry level Full Job Description This is a long-term substitute position with a start date of April 27, 2026, and is anticipated to continue through the end of the school year.

This is a K-5 position that involves travel between two elementary schools (grades K-2 and grades 3-5) that share a campus.

Utilize provided resources and lessons that foster a coherent and rigorous progression of learning, meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students and employ a variety of developmentally appropriate instructional techniques.

Can demonstrate basic accompaniment on piano/keyboard.

Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and is developmentally appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.

Assess the progress of students on a regular basis and use these assessments to inform instruction.

Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.

Plan and collaborate with special education teachers and classroom aides in order to support academic progress of students on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), 504 Accommodation Plans, or any other education plans.

Identify pupil academic and social emotional needs and collaborate with other professional staff members and families to address those needs.

Control the storage and use of school-owned property.

Communicate effectively with all stakeholders (families, team members and student assistance team) on pupils progress.

Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the school and self-selected professional growth activities related to music.

Attend staff and team meetings. Other duties as assigned.
