Music Theory Teacher

Summary:

Newton South High School is hiring a Music Theory Instructor to teach a semester long Honors Music Theory course. Candidates should have experience teaching at the High School Level. This is a .1 Position.

Qualifications:

Appropriate DESE teaching license, including SEI endorsement Ability to handle a multitude of varying and complex issues Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to handle a multitude of varying and complex issues Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with numerous building stakeholders

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

Majority of work is performed in a school / classroom / performance hall environment. While performing the duties of this job, the teacher is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, talk, and hear. The teacher is regularly required to bend, stoop, crouch and/or kneel. The teacher is occasionally required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
