QUALIFICATIONS

Must be highly qualified and certified to teach in the state of Michigan. Must possess certification in Music Education, K-12, with JX or JQ endorsement. Instrumental emphasis preferred. Have a strong desire to work with elementary school aged students and their parents.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Use a varied repertoire per curriculum adopted by the Board of Education to accomplish state benchmarks. Demonstrate knowledgeable pedagogy on all instruments. Deliver effective classroom instruction. Collaborate with teaching partner/grade-level colleagues. Work as part of a building team for the improvement of instruction. Plan and organize daily class time appropriately to maintain standards of pupil behavior and provide a productive environment at all times. Participate in a variety of extra-curricular and co-curricular activities, including curriculum and staff development. Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administration. Prepare students for, and conduct, one or two required after school concerts each year. Be open to continuous change. The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District. Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance. Perform other duties as assigned.
