Job Description

Gier Elementary Related Arts Teacher Qualifications:
Valid Elementary Michigan teaching certificate. K - 5 all subjects credential. Position required to teach music. Must be Highly Qualified in accordance with federal and state guidelines. A Related Arts Teacher provides engaging, interdisciplinary learning experiences that support student achievement through the integration of literacy, music, visual arts, writing, and STEM. This position extends and enriches the district's core curriculum by reinforcing reading, writing, communication, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills through hands-on, project-based learning opportunities. The teacher collaborates with classroom teachers, interventionists, and administrators to design learning experiences that strengthen literacy skills while fostering student engagement and creativity. Instruction is aligned with district curriculum, the Science of Reading, Michigan Academic Standards, and district Strategic goals.
