Part-Time Choir Teacher (Grades 4-8) Light of the World Academy (LOTWA)
Location:
Pinckney, Michigan Position Type:
Part-Time (Approximately 20 Hours per Week)
Schedule:
Preferred Monday-Friday, 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM (potentially flexible)
Compensation:
$20.00-$25.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience

8/24/2026 Join Our Mission Light of the World Academy is seeking a passionate and energetic Part-Time Choir Teacher to inspire students in grades 4-8 through music education and choral performance. The ideal candidate will foster a love of music, develop students' vocal abilities, and create engaging learning experiences that build confidence, creativity, and teamwork. This is an excellent opportunity for an educator who enjoys working with upper elementary and middle school students and believes in the power of music to enrich the educational experience. Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging choir and vocal music instruction for students in grades 4-8. Teach vocal techniques, music theory fundamentals, rhythm, and performance skills. Prepare students for school performances, concerts, and special events. Create a positive, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment. Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback. Collaborate with school leadership and staff to support student success. Maintain classroom management and uphold school expectations. Incorporate a variety of musical styles and age-appropriate repertoire. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in music education or related field Valid Michigan teaching certificate with Music Education endorsement or Currently enrolled in a teacher certification program and actively working toward certification. Experience working with children in an educational, musical, or youth development setting. Strong vocal and music instruction skills. Excellent communication and organizational abilities. Preferred Experience directing choirs or vocal ensembles. Piano accompaniment skills are a plus.
