The Opportunity:

We are looking for a dynamic, high-energy Intermediate Music Teacher to lead our 3rd through 5th-grade scholars. Role Summary As the Intermediate Music Teacher, you are responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive music curriculum tailored to the developmental needs of 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. You will guide students through the transition from general music to more technical applications, including music literacy, intermediate vocal techniques, and introductory instrumental instruction. You will lead school performances that showcase student growth and foster a vibrant arts culture within the building. Why You'll Succeed (Qualifications)
Certified Professional:
Valid Missouri Teaching Certification in K-12 Music (Vocal or Instrumental).
Degree Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Music Education; Master's Degree preferred.
Instructional Versatility:
You know how to engage 9-to-11-year-olds, balancing technical music theory with fun, hands-on performance opportunities.
Performance Leader:
You have experience directing school-wide concerts and managing the logistics of student performances.
Culturally Responsive:
You integrate a wide variety of musical genres, cultures, and histories into your lessons, ensuring every student sees themselves in the music they study. Your Impact (Key Duties)
Deepen Music Literacy:
Teach students to read, write, and analyze standard musical notation and rhythmic patterns.
Foster Ensemble Excellence:
Lead classroom vocal and instrumental groups, focusing on harmony, blend, and the collaborative nature of making music together.
Instrumental Introduction:
Introduce students to foundational instruments (such as recorders, percussion, or ukuleles) as a bridge to middle school band and orchestra programs.
Showcase Talent:
Organize and direct high-quality school performances and grade-level programs that engage families and the community.
Integrate & Innovate:
Use music technology and cross-curricular connections (like the math of rhythm or the history of a folk song) to make music relevant to every scholar.
Classroom Harmony:

Work Year:

Salary:
Based on the Teacher Salary Schedule (determined by experience and degree).
