Candidates should apply only if they are able to be physically present and available to work onsite by the start date•St. Louis Community College's Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care is seeking an adjunct clinical instructor at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital. St. Louis Community College's Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care is seeking adjunct instructors to teach didactic, laboratory, and/or clinical coursework in the BSRC program at the Florissant Valley Campus. Primary Duties Performed Clinical instructors are responsible for the instruction and evaluation of respiratory care students in the Bachelor of Science in respiratory care program. Instructors are responsible for ensuring students meet the students' learning outcomes for each clinical course. The clinical instructor will be responsible for a minimum of four BSRC students per shift. Knowledge - Skills -
Abilities:
A clinical instructor acts as a guide, a teacher, and a role model. An effective clinical instructor should be patient, professional, enthusiastic, motivated, organized, knowledgeable, respectful, approachable with strong communication skills. Qualifications/Experience Bachelor's degree or higher required NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Credential AHA Basic Life Support Certificate At least one year experience as a respiratory therapist
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate degree Five years or more experience as a respiratory therapist Two years or more experience as a clinical educator or preceptor
Working Conditions Physical Requirements:
Negligible to moderate physical activity, which may include standing for extended periods, light lifting of instructional materials, and use of standard classroom or computer equipment. Classroom, clinical, laboratory, or online instructional environment
