Music Teacher
JOB GOALS
To support the delivery of the Lee County School Districts written, taught, tested, and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement. To ensure the reflection and communication of a positive image and attitude toward decisions and functions of the district as they relate to the public, staff, parents and students. To plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional and musical education program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
QUALIFICATIONS
Has 48 hours of coursework from and accredited college or passed ACT Work Keys test. Knowledge of framework or relevant coursework. Demonstrates proficiency in oral and written communication. Displays ability to establish and maintain a positive rapport with students, staff, parents and the public. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO
Principal or designee.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of a certified teacher: Plans, prepares and delivers instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences. Develops and maintains written lesson plans based on MS Curriculum Framework and district pacing guide. Establishes and communicates clear objectives for all learning activities. Develops and supervises a program for the proper purchase and storage, care and inventory of needed equipment and supplies. Prepares classroom for class activities and keeps classrooms neat, clean and orderly. Provides a variety of learning materials and resource for use in educational activities. Identifies and selects needs different instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs. Instructs and monitors students in the use of learning materials and equipment. Uses relevant technology to support instruction. Observes and evaluates students' performance and development. Encourages and monitor the progress of individual students. Maintains accurate and complete records of students' progress and development. Updates all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies and school regulations. Manages student behavior in the classroom be establishing and enforcing rules and procedures. Maintains discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school. Participates in department meetings, school meetings and parent meetings. Communicates necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and needs. Participates and implement new strategies obtained through professional development. Maintains high standards, ethical behavior and confidentiality of student issues. Exemplifies strong work ethics and professionalism (i.e., promptness, attendance and professional dress).
OTHER DUTIES
Performs all other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
The salary and length of contract shall be established by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the principal or designee in accordance with provisions of the board's policy on evaluation of personnel.
