Job Description
Piano Teacher (Part-Time) - Join a Thriving, Team-Based Studio The Piano Workshop at Chester has spent nearly 20 years building one of the most respected private lesson communities in Morris and Somerset County. Our students don't just take lessons—they perform, grow, and develop a lifelong connection to music through programs like MEA, Piano Guild, ABRSM, and regular performance opportunities. We are currently looking for a piano teacher who is both skilled and "super cool." Now, to be clear—"super cool" isn't a gimmick here. It's part of our culture. It's what our students say about the teachers they connect with most—the ones who can walk into a room, meet a 6-year-old at their level, inspire a beginner adult, and make learning feel both structured and fun. If you know exactly what that means, you'll likely fit right in. What You'll Love About This Role Students are provided - no need to build your own roster Supportive, team-based environment - collaborate, don't operate in isolation Established systems, curriculum guidance, and performance opportunities already in place Opportunity to grow your teaching hours and refine your craft over time A studio that values both musicianship and personality Who This Role Is Perfect For Teachers with at least 1 year of experience (private or classroom) Early-career educators or recent graduates looking to grow within a strong studio Individuals who bring fresh perspective, energy, and a willingness to improve Teachers who are comfortable working with an array of students, kids to adults, beginner to advanced What We're Looking For A great attitude and genuine passion for teaching Strong communication skills with leadership, students and parents Ability to keep lessons engaging, structured, and productive Familiarity with foundational teaching pedagogy Organized, reliable, and growth-oriented Someone who views teaching as both a discipline and creative outlet Expectations Must have reliable transportation Must live within a reasonable commuting distance (45 minutes or less) Availability for consistent weekly scheduling Compensation Competitive hourly rate (based on experience) Opportunities for increased hours as your schedule fills If you're looking for a place where you can teach at a high level, continue growing, and actually enjoy the students you work with , we'd love to hear from you.
