PFSM is a school committed to progress, growth, & excellence. Our programs include student & faculty recitals, workshops, masterclasses, group classes, chamber music, & more with an emphasis on a positive and productive experience. We are next to Wayne, NJ and it is an easy bus ride from NYC!Duties:
- Teach individual and potentially group classes
- Teach/Work with parents (or guardians) in helping achieve a smooth practice week
- Prepare students for recitals, masterclasses, auditions, or other performance opportunities
- Participate in yearly faculty recitals
- Attend occasional faculty meetings
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications- At least 2 years teaching experience
- Performing experience
- Possesses the following professional skills Positive and engaging Punctual and sticks to schedule Committed to continued growth, both as teacher and musician Team player Problem-solver Effective communicator (communicates to the parent and student) Preferred Qualifications (not a requirement, but a plus)
- Willingness to teach classes, in person and virtually
- Comfortable in teaching students from ages 4+, as well as beginner to advance level
- Plays a second instrument (e.g. piano, viola, etc)
- Completed Suzuki training (at least book 1)
