We're looking for a piano teacher who shares that belief — someone who doesn't just teach technique, but who genuinely loves being with students and watching them grow. Who We're Looking For You're a musician and a human being first. You bring patience, warmth, and real enthusiasm to every lesson. You know how to meet a student where they are — whether that's a six-year-old playing their first five notes or a teenager working toward a recital — and you make them feel capable and seen. You're also someone families can count on. You show up, you communicate, and you take the work seriously. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Piano Performance, Music Education, or a related field Experience teaching students of varying ages and skill levels Strong communication skills — with students and their families Adaptable teaching style that responds to each student's individual needs and pace Patient, creative, and consistently encouraging Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working independently A genuine love for music and a desire to pass that on Responsibilities Provide weekly in-home piano lessons to students in Manhattan and the surrounding boroughs, scheduled around your availability While our primary focus is children, we welcome teachers experienced with students of all ages Participate in monthly online check-ins with our director to stay connected to Willan's educational philosophy and community Communicate openly with families about student progress and next steps Start date: September 2026 through June 2027 About Willan Academy Willan Academy of Music was founded in 2015 by classical guitarist Kenji Haba with a simple but deep conviction: every student deserves a music education that's personal, inspiring, and built around them .
