We are a growing boutique music school in Montgomery, Ohio focused on helping students become confident, capable musicians through clear instruction, strong relationships, and high-quality educational experiences. We are currently seeking a piano teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year teaching: Private piano lessons and/or Small group Piano Foundations Labs (beginner group piano classes) This position is ideal for teachers who value: Strong organization and communication Consistency and follow-through Student growth and long-term development Warm but structured teaching Professionalism and teamwork A calm, encouraging learning environment About Evergreen Evergreen is not a high-volume "music lesson factory." We are intentionally building a boutique, relationship-centered music school with clear standards, thoughtful curriculum, and a supportive team culture.
Our programs emphasize:
Clear skill progression Reading, technique, creativity, and musicianship Positive student relationships Consistent home practice habits Long-term musical growth over entertainment-only teaching Many of our students participate in recitals, local evaluations and festivals, competitions, and long-term study pathways. Responsibilities Teach weekly private piano lessons and/or group piano labs (max 4 students/lab) that include repertoire, theory, technique, and musicianship Track student progress and communicate clearly with families Write concise weekly lesson notes and assignments for parents and students Create a positive, focused, and welcoming classroom environment Help students navigate mistakes, frustration, and skill-building challenges in a positive and supportive way Follow studio curriculum and teaching systems while bringing your own warmth and personality to lessons Collaborate professionally with the Evergreen teaching team Qualifications Ideal candidates: Have prior piano teaching experience (1+ years) Are comfortable teaching and engaging with children ages 5-18 Are comfortable working with a variety of learning styles, personalities, and neurodivergent learners Are dependable, organized, and professional Enjoy working with both young beginners and advancing students Can maintain a calm, engaging, and encouraging classroom environment Are open to mentorship, systems, and continued growth Value substance and long-term development alongside engaging instruction Bonus qualifications: Experience teaching group or lab piano Familiarity with Montessori-inspired or student-centered education Classical piano or Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) system background Experience with beginner pedagogy and technique foundations Preference may be given to candidates who align with Evergreen's Christian values Compensation & Benefits W-2 employee position Starting $25-30 hourly pay based on experience Flexible teaching load with room for growth Structured curriculum and teaching support Beautiful, well-equipped teaching spaces with Yamaha digital pianos Supportive and collaborative studio culture Opportunities for long-term growth within the school Additional compensated opportunities for recital support, substitute teaching, administrative projects, and other studio support roles may periodically be available based on studio needs and teacher interest.
