Essential Duties + Responsibilities Support of the school's mission, vision, core values, goals and policies . Interact and communicate respectfully with all stakeholders . Establish a classroom culture of high expectations and compassion for all through the implementation of Responsive Classroom . Follow the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators and the Ohio Standards of the Teaching Profession . Lead a multiage group of students in grades K-8 using a developmental approach and adapted curriculums to guide daily instruction, including Responsive Classroom. Implementation of the Ohio Standards of Learning in assigned subject area according to the provided or co-created curriculum map . Effectively deliver and design, developmentally appropriate daily lesson plans that are in alignment with Ohio's Learning Standards and Model Curriculums by tailoring provided curriculum to suit individual student developmental needs. Differentiate instruction to reflect observations and assessment data and meet the needs and goals of individual students . Assess students daily with formative assessments and cumulatively with summative assessment. Ensure the success of each student through clear and consistent record- keeping, differentiated instruction, and timely and specific individual feedback. Work with colleagues and school leadership to frequently examine student data for ongoing refinement of instruction and assessment . Share best practices with other teachers and collaborate positively and professionally with them to improve instructional and assessment practices. Facilitate parent/guardian communications and conferences to discuss student progress . Keep the classroom environment organized and safe. Lead students in various intergenerational programs which may include monthly visits to partner organizations and hosting Learning Partners in the classroom to engage in activities that increase social emotional skills, confidence and empathy. Engage regularly in professional learning opportunities to better instruction . Maintain consistent, reliable, dependable attendance and a professional attitude. Devote full attention and time to teaching responsibilities and such other duties as may be assigned. Required Skills + Mindsets Passionate about urban education and our mission. Possess a growth mindset. Intense desire to understand students and design individualized instruction. Believe ALL students can learn. Commitment to use data to drive instruction. Willingness to learn to teach a multi-age/grade classroom using a workshop model. Sees value in teaching and learning in an intergenerational environment (multi-age, community members, etc.). Dedicated to culturally responsive teaching practices. Receptive to feedback and desire to continuously learn and grow professionally. Personable and able to build strong relationships with all stakeholders. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or equivalent experience . Ohio Middle Childhood PK-12 Teaching License in relevant subject area: PE, Art, Music or working toward full teacher licensure. Experience working in schools or with students. Satisfies the BCI and FBI background checks. Benefits + Salary Starting Salary Range for
Licensed Teachers:
$47,250 - $54,600. Comprehensive Healthcare and HSA, State Retirement STRS. Professional Learning includes coaching and tuition assistance. Employee Assistance Program.
