Job Description

Founded in 1844, Wyoming Seminary is an independent coeducational preparatory school in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Lowers School Music Appreciation/Band Teacher Wyoming Seminary seeks a full-time Music Appreciation/Band Teacher to start in August, 2026. This position involves teaching music appreciation classes to Grades 5-8 as well as conducting our three Middle School band ensembles (Grades 5 & 6, Grades 7 & 8, and Jazz Band). A commitment to arts education is essential. Ideal candidates must also possess a willingness to work closely with other members of the arts department, participate in co-curricular activities, and perform other duties as expected. Our faculty is deeply committed to the entire student experience; it is expected that faculty responsibilities will include a combination of student support, involvement in campus life, committee work, and extracurricular activities. Applicants must be dynamic individuals who are passionate about enriching the lives of children, collaborative and innovative in their approach to teaching, and who embrace and support the diversity of our student body through their curriculum and pedagogy.
Qualifications for candidates:
Bachelor's degree is required with preference for a Master's degree An appreciation for, and commitment to, arts education. Teaching experience preferred.
