A deep love of teaching young children and a gift for channeling their energy into musical growth Training in Kodály, Orff-Schulwerk, or a comparable research-based approach to elementary music education Skill in designing engaging, multisensory music experiences that are accessible to learners of all profiles Genuine belief in the power of music to build confidence, belonging, and joy — especially for students who learn differently Natural warmth in relationships with students and families, with a gift for clear, honest communication Enthusiasm for small-group and individual instruction where you can truly know each learner Dedication to your own growth as a teacher through reflection, collaboration, and continuous learning What you'll do: Plan and deliver music instruction that sparks curiosity, builds skill, and celebrates what every student brings to the room Direct or support school performances, from polished productions to joyful everyday moments of shared music-making Build genuine relationships with students and families, maintaining open communication about progress and growth Collaborate closely with colleagues and administration as part of a team committed to each student's success Contribute to our culture of professionalism, warmth, and shared excellence About Rawson Saunders Founded in 1997, Rawson Saunders is recognized internationally as a leader in learner-centered education and is the only full-curriculum, fully accredited school in central Texas exclusively for students with dyslexia.
