DSM operates as a structured, professional music education institution focused on long-term student development. Instruction is delivered through consistent, one-on-one lessons supported by clear expectations, administrative infrastructure, and an aligned teaching model. This is a faculty appointment for educators who value consistency, professionalism, and meaningful student progress over time. Faculty Responsibilities Provide structured, individualized private instruction for students of varying ages and ability levels Develop foundational technique, musicianship, and performance skills Maintain a consistent weekly teaching schedule Prepare students for recital participation as part of the learning process Communicate clearly and professionally with students and families Track student progress and provide ongoing instructional direction Uphold DSM's instructional standards and professional expectations Qualifications Demonstrated experience teaching private guitar lessons Ability to work effectively with both children and adult students Strong organizational skills and professional reliability Understanding of structured, progressive music instruction Background in music education, pedagogy, or performance preferred Appointment & Compensation This is a 1099 independent contractor faculty appointment. Compensation is structured within DSM's faculty pay framework and is determined based on experience, demonstrated teaching ability, and alignment with the DSM instructional model. Competitive hourly rates Consistent student placement based on availability Administrative support for scheduling and enrollment Advancement within the compensation structure is based on demonstrated consistency, student development, and alignment over time.
