Job Description

Job Overview Our mission is to provide free, professional, one-on-one weekly music lessons to primarily 'at risk" elementary school children during the school year. We will start our 12th year in early September. We meet on Tuesdays between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. We are the only such program in Comal County. We are increasing our enrollment and will need two piano teachers and one ukelele teacher. Experience in teaching young children piano or ukelele instruments is a requirement. Responsibilities Develop comprehensive curriculum tailored to elementary school age children for piano and ukulele lessons Deliver engaging, interactive lessons that motivate students to learn and improve their musical abilities Manage classroom environments effectively, ensuring safety, discipline, and a positive atmosphere Adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs. Plan and organize our annual recitals to showcase student progress and boost confidence Maintain detailed records of lesson plans, student progress, and attendance Collaborate with our Program Administrator, parents, guardians, or adult learners to track goals and provide constructive feedback Qualifications Proven experience in teaching piano and ukulele with a strong understanding of curriculum development and lesson planning Classroom management skills with the ability to work with children Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices Strong communication skills paired with patience and enthusiasm for children and music education Relevant certifications or training in music instruction preferred but not required Join us in inspiring the next generation of musicians!
