Teachers must have experience teaching elementary age students, or older and sound knowledge of music education. Hours are approx. 14-16 hours per week: Monday-Thursday 12pm-3pm; Friday 12pm-2pm and

Teachers advance the pillars of an Ivy Hall education: Scholarship, Leadership, Citizenship, Entrepreneurship and Faith by fostering rigorous academic learning and growth, integrating and implementing the 7 Habits of an Effective Leader, inspiring service through global and community awareness, helping students find their voices through entrepreneurial activities, and supporting faith through Christian-based values. Responsibilities Present lessons in a comprehensive manner and use technological means to facilitate learning- ipad/computer skills necessary to teach lessons to teach music appreciation, note reading, rhythms etc. Provide Grade level appropriate instruction which engage students in a love of learning and exciting music lessons Create and distribute educational content relevant to Utah music standards for each grade level Assess and record students' progress and provide monthly newsletter 'blurb' and feedback to students and parents in the way of photos, videos and performances Maintain a tidy and orderly music room Playing an instrument is bonus, there is a piano and some musical instruments in the music room. Recorders taught in 3/4th and ukulele in 5th grade. Collaborate with other teachers and participate in regular PLC and staff meetings as needed Plan and execute Christ centered Christmas Programs for Preschool-Kindergarten and 1st-5th, prepare 5th grade students for Hope of America performance at the Marriott center, and year end Spring Programs for Preschool and 1st-5th grades. Observe and understand students' behavior, model the habits in all teaching Skills Proven experience as an Elementary teacher Must have classroom management skills- ability to learn new skills as needed Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines partnered with a willingness to follow the school's policies and procedures Excellent communicability and interpersonal skills Well-organized and committed Creative and energetic Strong moral values and discipline Bachelor's degree in teaching or in a specialized subject (music); certificate in education preferred but not required. Pay range is $20-$25 per hour depending on experience and education level. Hiring will take place before the end of June. The school year will begin August 2026.
