Part-Time Music Teacher

About Our School Blacksburg New School [BNS] is an accredited independent K-8 school, providing an individualized, rigorous and creative curriculum with a commitment to small class size. We are committed to academic and civic excellence, to individual and community responsibility, and to the love of learning. Position Overview We are seeking a Music Teacher to begin August 2026. The teacher will develop and implement weekly 60-minute lessons for the kindergarten through 5th grade classes and two optional 45-minutes/week music elective classes for middle school students. Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or relevant experience
• Experience teaching children
• Excellent classroom management skills
• Passion and enthusiasm for music education Hours and Compensation This is a 13 hour/week position including 7.

5 instructional hours, 3.5 hours for planning and prep, as well as 2 hours for teacher meetings. Compensation is $24.50/hour. The Music Teacher will also receive a partial tuition waiver should they enroll a child at BNS. In addition, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to use our facility for private music lessons, and potentially lead after-school music activities.
