Job Description Linton Hall School is seeking an enthusiastic Elementary School Music Teacher to join our school grounded in Benedictine values. The ideal candidates will inspire a love for music, nurture students' creativity, moral development, and foster a strong sense of community, while guiding students to grow in musical ability, self-worth, integrity, and responsibility. Essential Job Functions Interacts with parents, administration, co-workers, and school community in a manner that is professional and reflective of the charism of the Benedictine Sisters of VA Specifies clear and appropriate general music lessons, differentiates instruction, creates effective lesson plans reflective of curriculum, and evaluates student progress fairly and effectively Plans music for weekly Mass Plans Christmas Concert, and Spring Musical events Directs and conducts the school choir, leading rehearsals and developing vocal techniques Teachers in a manner that invites student to think critically and creatively Displays promptness and accuracy in assigned responsibilities Communicates effectively in speech and writing Responds to parent questions and concerns in a prompt manner Cooperates with school administration and complies with policies, procedures, and guidelines of Linton Hall School Serves on committees as necessary, attends school functions at times outside of typical hours Minimum Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor's Degree Teaching experience preferred VA State or VCEA certification current or actively working towards it Organizational Values Linton Hall School is a ministry of the Benedictine Sisters of Virginia (BSV) and as such supports our mission to provide Catholic educational experiences that empower students to master academic skills, to develop a sense of self-worth and integrity, and to learn to live effectively and responsibly with others.
