The Music Department at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, is seeking an instructor to teach the following: applied voice (2 positions)- including a weekly studio class, applied piano, and applied flute.
Essential Functions:
Provide weekly one-on-one applied instruction to music majors, minors, and non-majors. Prepare students for juries, recitals, ensemble performances, and other performance opportunities. Maintain regular communication with students regarding progress, goals, and expectations. Collaborate with ensemble directors and other faculty to support student performance within the department. Submit grades according to established deadlines. For applied voice, lead a weekly studio voice class.Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Music
- Experience teaching applied lessons in one of the instrument areas listed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness, including the ability to effectively respond to the academic needs of learners from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience teaching college age musicians.
- For applied piano, the ability to accompany instrumentalists in their recitals and juries
