Duties & Responsibilities:
(Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships) Responsible for the Music instruction for all students in grade K-6 assigned to your classes. Provide an enjoyable and fun experience in Music while following the District's prescribed curriculum. Promote the Music program to parents and the community. Share and effectively work as a member of a team, planning lessons together, monitoring progress and making modifications that meet the specific needs of all students. Support the content subject areas through the Music curriculum. Collaborate with grade level teams to support cross-curricular learning opportunities for students. Use both formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and set academic goals for improvement and acceleration Implement MTSS plans for any students needing Tier II or Tier III learning interventions Establish and maintain high standards of pupil behavior to achieve a positive learning atmosphere in the classroom Participate in District and building-wide staff development activities Incorporate the Olweus Anti-bullying, Positive Behavior Supports (PBIS), and Second Step strategies into your classroom. Communicate with and involve families as needed to support student achievement Provide on-going instruction and practice for students in building-wide procedures Assist with all other duties as assigned by the principal. Successful candidate must possess strong inter-personal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches his/her full potential. Good attendance and punctuality are a must to ensure that the duties and responsibilities of the job are performed successfully.

  • Sit, stand, speak, hear, see, and walk to carry out routine duties.
Must be able to occasionally lift, move, or push items of 50 lbs. such as assisting children or moving/rearranging furniture. Must be able to supervise students in all types of weather. Meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff. Must be able to implement Crisis Prevention Intervention strategies, including appropriate physical restraint procedures and escorting.
