Detailed Position Information The Department of Philosophy at The University of Alabama is searching for a philosopher to fill a one-year full-time instructor with the possibility of renewal, beginning August 16, 2026. AOS or AOC in philosophy of medicine, broadly construed. The successful candidate will also have teaching competence in logic and critical thinking. Courses to be taught may include Introduction to Philosophy, Critical Thinking, Medical Ethics, Introduction to Ethics, Philosophy of Medicine. Ph.D. before the start of the Fall 2026 semester strongly preferred; evidence of teaching excellence required.
