Full Job Description Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and spiritually grounded Teenage Class Teacher to lead, teach, and mentor the teenagers of Arise Church. This individual will oversee the spiritual development of teens through Bible-based teaching, discipleship, and engagement using a structured curriculum. The teacher will work closely with the Pastor's Wife, ensuring that all activities align with the church's vision and values.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and facilitate weekly Bible study classes for teenagers. Teach using an approved, age-appropriate Christian curriculum. Create a welcoming, safe, and spiritually enriching environment for teens. Provide mentorship, guidance, and counseling to individual teens when needed. Plan and implement spiritual growth activities such as devotionals, discussions, and group projects. Maintain class attendance records and track student progress. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding class updates and student engagement. Submit periodic reports to the Pastor's Wife on progress, needs, and upcoming plans. Attend and participate in scheduled departmental and church meetings. Collaborate with other youth workers and ministry leaders for joint programs or church-wide events.
Qualifications & Requirements:
A strong, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a lifestyle that reflects Christian values. Minimum of a High School Diploma (Associate or Bachelor's degree in Education, Theology, or Youth Ministry is a plus). Prior experience teaching or working with teenagers in a church or educational setting. Sound knowledge of the Bible and ability to teach doctrinally sound, age-appropriate lessons. Ability to use or adapt to a Bible study curriculum and develop engaging content. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Must be a team player with a heart for mentorship and spiritual growth. Willingness to undergo a background check and attend child protection training. Availability for Sunday services, occasional weekday meetings, and special events.
Preferred Attributes:
Creative and enthusiastic with a passion for youth ministry. Tech-savvy and comfortable using media, videos, or apps to enhance lessons. Ability to counsel teens on relevant life and spiritual matters. Organized, dependable, and spiritually mature.
