Director of Childrens Ministries

Sam Jones Methodist Church is seeking a full-time Director Of Children's Ministries to join our growing congregation! Sam Jones is located downtown in the vibrant city of Cartersville, GA. The church has been a staple of our community for almost 200 years as we share the good news of Jesus with Cartersville and Bartow County. We are a medium to large size congregation with an average of 450-500 people in worship on Sunday mornings. The children's ministry has about 75 children (ages birth-5th grade) on Sunday mornings. This position is responsible for all ministry activities for children (ages birth-5th grade), including Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, and special events. This position is also responsible for all recruitment and training of children's volunteers, teachers, leaders, including paid, part-time intern(s), as well as all nursery staff.

Responsibilities:

Choose and provide all children's ministry curriculum and plan, create, and implement weekly programs for children. Recruit, train, and schedule teams of children's ministry volunteers. Responsible for overseeing the Children's Ministry budget. Plan, schedule, and oversee monthly Club 345 (or equivalent) events. Plan, schedule, and oversee regular retreats including but not limited to one weekend retreat and one other overnight/weekend retreat. Lead in the creation and annual updating of safety policies and guidelines. Regularly and intentionally communicate with parents, families, and children's ministry leaders within the church and in our community to ensure that children have many opportunities to thrive. Maintain a communication and social media presence consistent with the values, theology, and position of the church. Plan and organize an annual Vacation Bible School for the summer months.

Qualifications:

Mature Christian faith. Passion for outreach to children and their families. Understanding of the Methodist Church and Wesleyan Theology. Positive people skills and ability to relate to children and parents. Four-year college degree in relevant field, or equivalent experience.

Compensation:

Competitive Salary based upon experience.
