Job Description

Seeking qualified, experienced instructors for Philosophy courses in the Arts, Business & Education Department. Successful candidates will have experience and be willing to instruct in either face-to-face or online classes as needed. Adjunct pool applications are reviewed on an as-needed basis and will be retained for one (1) year from the date of application Adjuncts are paid at a per credit hour rate Teach assigned courses in accordance with the approved syllabus and course outcomes Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that support student learning Provide timely, constructive feedback to students on academic process Hold regular office hours or make reasonable arrangements to support student questions and academic needs Follow college policies, department procedures, safety guidelines, and accessibility expectations Communicate professionally with deans, associate deans, department chairs, colleagues, and students in a timely manner Attend departmental meetings and In-Service (optional) Master's Degree in Philosophy or master's degree in a closely related discipline with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Philosophy Incumbent must reside in Idaho (Currently CEI doesn't sponsor H-1B Visas) Evidenced teaching experience Bilingual (Spanish) At least three years of higher education teaching experience ___________________________________________________________________________________
Physical Demand and Work Environment:
Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions. On-site work is essential and regular predictable attendance is required. Employees may be required to work at occasional events and handle tasks outside of regular working hours.
Background Investigations:
Employment at College of Eastern Idaho will be contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background investigation and may require a credit and/or motor vehicle background investigation depending on the position.
