Job Description
DIRECTOR OF CAMPUS MINISTRY ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE
: The Director of Campus Ministry is appointed by the Principal with the approval of the President and serves under the direct supervision of the Director of Mission Integration. The Director of Campus Ministry serves as a member of the Administrative Team and shares responsibility for the total program of youth ministry and formation. The Director of Campus Ministry is responsible for coordinating the school's efforts to respond to the pastoral needs of students, faculty, and staff. This occurs principally through prayer, liturgy, opportunities to share in the sacraments, retreats, and service.EXPECTATIONS
: Working hours - 7:30 am to 3:15 pm - 10 months per year, other hours as needed to fulfill accountabilities Work 33 hours per week during summer months; other hours as needed to fulfill accountabilities Serve as an Educator in the Faith, a role model to staff and students, upholding and promoting the charism, mission, values, and traditions of the Congregation of Holy Cross and the founder, Blessed Basil Moreau as we accompany others of faith and good will in their efforts to respond to God's call in their lives. Model the Holy Cross charism, mission, values, and traditions with humility, courage, and constancy. Not as just a job, but as a vocation - a visible, living witness to who we are as a Holy Cross educator, not just what we do. The Campus Minister may teach up to two courses per day during the regular school yearACCOUNTABILITIES
: Specific accountabilities shall include, but not be limited to: Administrative Leadership Possess knowledge of the mission, philosophy and core values of Notre Dame College Prep and support incorporating and communicating them. Submit annually a budget for the Office of Campus Ministry as part of the Mission and Ministry budget, in cooperation with the Director of Mission Integration. Provide a ministerial presence at Notre Dame so as to engage the community in an understanding of campus ministry goals and a participation in its progress. Serve as a member of the school's Administrative Team, providing schoolwide leadership and direction. Continue professional development. Support the continuation and development of the school's mission and the mission of the Congregation of Holy Cross across the school. Work with other department heads and the Director of Mission and Ministry to ensure the collaboration of Campus Ministry, Christian Service, and Religious Studies activities, events, and curricula. Ministry and Service Plan and coordinate appropriate and regular liturgical experiences for the school community. Prepare morning prayer and student support to share prayer over the public address system. Provide students an opportunity to receive their first Sacraments of Initiation and/or Reconciliation. Provide additional opportunities for students to receive the Sacraments of Eucharist, Reconciliation, and Anointing of the Sick where applicable. Coordinate retreat opportunities for the Notre Dame community, including all students and faculty. Oversee the Kairos retreat program for juniors and seniors. Support opportunities for service and promote student participation in collaboration with the Director of Christian Service. Work with students, moderators, coaches, and staff to support service projects around the school and local community. Provide leadership training for students in tandem with the Director of Student Activities. Recruit and prepare liturgical ministers (greeters/ministers of hospitality, lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Eucharist, etc) for service to the community. Oversee the "ministry of presence" within the community during times of tragedy, illness, or death by providing support for those in need and their families. Participate in events, webinars, or activities with the Holy Cross Institute where applicable.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor's degree, excellent communication skills, an energetic and outgoing personality, strong administrative/organizational skills and the ability to work on a ministry team are essential.Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Master's degree in theology, divinity, or ministry, experience in coordinating retreats, experience in a youth ministry setting, and familiarity with the Google Docs. 2+ years of Catholic school experience is preferred.Salary and Benefits:
Salary will be provided according to experience and education as dictated by salary scale. Full health, dental and vision benefits are available. 403(b) match is available.About Notre Dame College Prep :
