Position Highlights:
Provide compassionate, patient-centered care for individuals facing serious illness Opportunities to practice in hospital, clinic, or home-based settings Serve as a key leader in delivering holistic symptom management and end-of-life care Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to support patient goals and treatment plans Participate in teaching medical students and residents in palliative medicine topics
Ideal Candidate:
Fellowship-trained and Board Certified/Eligible in Hospice & Palliative Medicine Eligible for unrestricted Ohio medical and DEA licenses Skilled in leading family meetings, goals of care conversations, and culturally sensitive end-of-life discussions Proficient in managing complex pain and non-pain symptoms Committed to interdisciplinary collaboration and open to feedback Prior experience precepting learners preferred Approachable, respectful, and team-oriented
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver coordinated palliative care services across inpatient and outpatient settings Provide intensive family communication and symptom management for seriously ill patients Conduct thorough psychosocial and spiritual assessments with interdisciplinary support Refer appropriate patients to hospice and support transitions in care Engage in teaching and mentoring of residents and medical students Maintain a strong, positive presence across patient care teams and administrative contacts
