Introduction to Ethics Principal Accountabilities Provides instruction for courses at a variety of times and locations as needed Demonstrates a commitment to student engagement, student success, and instructional excellence Maintains access to students through posted office hours and electronic communication Prepares and utilizes a course syllabus and assessments for each course using guidelines established by the institution Maintains current knowledge of effective teaching methodologies and utilizes a variety of instructional delivery methods, classroom media, and educational resources Advises students in academic matters Evaluates students' performance through a variety of means to measure progress and keep them informed in a timely manner Assists in the development, distribution, and collection of assessments for courses and program objectives Provides recommendations to the Academic Dean, Assistant Dean, Department Head, and Curriculum Resource Team regarding curriculum Demonstrates a positive and professional relationship with students, colleagues, college administration, and the community Submits timely college reports and forms to the appropriate divisions/departments Exhibits a commitment to lifelong learning through participation in professional development activities Engages in collegial activities and service activities across the department, division, and college Possesses a passion for teaching community college students Demonstrates excellent communication skills, both written and orally Attends college orientation and required institutional meetings Responsible for other related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications Masters degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Philosophy (per SACSCOC, courses in theology, religion, and education courses do not satisfy this requirement) Experience teaching college-level philosophy courses Experience teaching at a community college or two-year college This position is to teach in-person Philosophy classes on the Brenham Campus Minimum Competencies Clearly explaining concepts, active listening, and providing constructive, immediate feedback Creating a positive, safe, and collaborative learning environment that encourages student participation and self-management Maintaining subject-matter expertise, engaging in continuous professional development, and demonstrating cultural competence Preferred Qualifications Experience using D2L/Brightspace Experience teaching Introduction to Philosophy and/or Introduction to Ethics Please provide at least three professional references Preferred Competencies Special Notes To Applicants The College assigns appropriately credentialed faculty members in support of educational quality and the mission of the College, in keeping with Board policy

Unofficial transcripts will suffice for the purpose of this application; however, please make sure that the applicant's name and graduation dates are clearly readable on the transcript. 5. The candidate selected will be required to present official transcript at the time of hiring. Official transcripts will be required.
