Chair & Dean of School Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of this faculty member is to teach students the knowledge and understanding of each subject in a way that demonstrates a gift for teaching, competence in the academic discipline, and a genuine love for students. The faculty member's pedagogy should communicate the love of a subject so that an average student can achieve understanding, demonstrate comprehension, and show an appreciation of the subject. Candidates may be asked to teach the following courses: Biblical Catechism (5th and 6th grade) Biblical Theology (8th grade) Middle School Latin 1 (7th grade) Middle School Latin 2 (8th grade) Other Latin courses as needed

Job Duties:

Ability to prepare and deliver a course syllabus and lesson plans, when requested. Teach assigned subjects. Prepare lesson plans and notes for class(es); create quizzes and tests. Grade homework, quizzes, tests and return in timely manner. Manage classroom, including behavior issues, missing / late work, etc. Tutor struggling students.

Parental contact:

returning e-mails, phone calls in a timely manner. Attend required school functions. Attend and participate in faculty meetings.

Minimum Educational Background:

College degree required; Master's degree preferred (preferably in academic discipline).

Previous Related Experience:

a minimum of two years of teaching experience preferred, ideally in a classical setting. Specialization in one or more of these areas listed above in the Position Summary is expected. Expectations/Requirements for

Working Conditions:

This position is a full-time, exempt position which requires regular on-campus instruction. Activities include walking, standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity. The work is performed primarily indoors.
