The Department of History, Humanities, & Languages at the University of Houston-Downtown is seeking applicants for a Lecturer position beginning August 2026. This is a one-year, non-tenure track position that will entail teaching 15 semester credit hours (five classes) per semester for our department, as well as minimal departmental service.

Qualifications:

The candidate must have at least an M.A. in Philosophy, while a Ph.D. degree is preferred A strong record of teaching undergraduate courses in Philosophy Ability to teach at least two of our three General Education classes: Intro to Philosophy, Contemporary Ethical Issues, The Meaning of Life Ability to teach both face-to-face and online asynchronous modalities.
