We are seeking a part-time art aide to assist the middle school art teachers in grades 6-8. American Heritage School in American Fork, Utah, is seeking a part-time middle school art aide for the 2026-27 school year. This role supports the middle school visual arts program by assisting the lead Art Teacher with classroom preparation, materials management, and student support. The position is approximately 12 hours per week , offering a meaningful opportunity to be involved in an inspiring and creative educational setting. Working closely with the Middle School Art Teacher and Fine Arts Department Chair, the Art Aide plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment and ensuring students have the tools they need to learn and create effectively. Nature of the Role This position is considered a faith-forming role within American Heritage School. In addition to aiding the teacher, aides are expected to actively support, model, and teach principles consistent with the Mission and values of AHS and the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Qualifications Candidates should have experience working with students in an educational/creative setting preferred. Applicants should have an interest or background knowledge in the visual arts (e.g., drawing, painting, or sketching.). They should be organized, reliable and able to follow direction and have positive and respectful in communication with students and staff. Successful candidates will demonstrate an enduring love of youth and a genuine passion for teaching and learning, as well as a commitment to actively participate in and contribute to a faith-based educational environment aligned with the teachings and values of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Faith and Mission Responsibilities In addition to academic responsibilities, employees at AHS are expected to integrate faith-based principles and moral reasoning into classroom instruction where appropriate, serve as an example of Christian character and discipleship to students, support and uphold the spiritual mission of the school through daily interactions with students and colleagues, participate in school-wide devotionals, prayer, and other faith-centered activities, and respond thoughtfully to student questions related to faith, values, and moral decision-making in a manner consistent with the school's mission. Professional Expectations Candidates should be professional in appearance and demeanor and willing and able to serve as ambassadors for the AHS Mission, Honor Code, and Diversity Statement. Personal conduct, public statements, and online presence, both on and off campus, are expected to reflect and support the school's religious mission and educational purpose. Aide Responsibilities Primary responsibilities include assisting with preparation, organization, and cleanup of materials for art classes. Supporting students during class sessions under the direction of the teacher. Maintaining art supplies, tools, and equipment; help track and replenish inventory. Assisting in mounting and displaying student artwork throughout the school. Helping to organize art shows and exhibitions as needed. Performing basic clerical and classroom tasks such as making copies, organizing student work, and setting up demonstrations. Encouraging safe use of art materials and tools. Supporting the mission and values of American Heritage School. Key Skills and Abilities Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented. Good communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to support students in a calm and encouraging manner and be comfortable working with various artistic tools and media. Extracurricular Opportunities Applicants are encouraged to share any interest or experience in supporting AHS extracurricular athletics programs. AHS prefers to fill coaching and activity roles with employees who have both the interest and skills to mentor students in these areas. Compensation Part-time hourly position (approximately 12 hours/week). Competitive wage based on experience.
